The Monorail Manufacturers Association introduces the MMA Certified Program for enclosed track workstation cranes, monorails and patented track systems.
The Monorail Manufacturers Association introduces the MMA Certified Program for enclosed track workstation cranes, monorails and patented track systems. The MMA Certified Program was developed by the MMA membership and is intended to provide the product specifiers and the enduser with confidence, and evidence that the MMA products meet the American National Standards (ANSI) MH27.1 or MH27.2 specifications, and that the products are properly supported in the market.
The certification consists of two sections. The first section is an engineering product review by a certified professional engineer that compares the product design to the design requirements of the ANSI specifications. Then, the technical Declaration of Conformity, once approved, is stamped by the professional engineer. The second section addresses service and support and is a signed Declaration of Conformity by the company’s CEO. This service and support Declaration of Conformity states that the company provides:
1. Literature and manuals that address safety, installation, maintenance, warranty, and replacement parts.
2. Product training and technical support.
3. Availability of spare parts for the “life cycle” of the product.
4. Qualified service and repair capability
5. Proof of adequate liability insurance
The Material Handling Industry Association of America (MHIA) administers the program and only products that have met both the technical and support and service requirements can display the MMA Certified logo.
